Descenders Next – the only extreme sports game you’ll need

Descenders Next – the only extreme sports game you will EVER need. At least that’s what is planned when it releases in 2025 on Game Pass.

You’ll know of the Descenders name as the original game has now been played by upwards of 30 million people. It kinda makes sense then that No More Robots and RageSquid begin looking to the future then, and they are doing it with Descenders Next.

Next…

The much anticipated follow-up to the downhill biking sensation that is Descenders, Descenders Next will release on Game Pass and PC (Steam) in 2025. Descenders Next will aim to become the only extreme sports game you’ll ever need, starting life with a couple of deeply-crafted sports, and slowly but surely adding more and more adrenaline-fueled activities over time. If the masses play it, the teams behind it promise that the content will flow.

When Descenders Next launches in 2025, it will begin with a focus on boarding sports. Players will learn to conquer the snowy caps through tight, effortless snowboarding action, before taking to the highlands with the grittier feel of mountainboarding. Each sport will feel and handle completely different to the next, meaning players will have to learn to tackle and master every nook and cranny of Next.

Descenders Next promises to be as meaty as Descenders when it launches, with full online multiplayer action, tons of tricks and grinds to pull off, and multiple huge biomes to explore. Players will earn rep as they scale the mountain, and use that to buy new boards, kits, helmets, goggles and more to customize their rider.

Much more natural

Descenders provided both procedurally-generated tracks, as well as a selection of hand-crafted parks, but Descenders Next will provide a more natural experience, as players will tackle procedural off-piste mountains that chain together into tight, winding parks and vistas.

The parks will provide fresh new challenges, while also acting as some serious playgrounds of fun. Sometimes you’ll be required to dash down the mountain with your friends as quickly as possible, while other times you’ll be aiming to focus on your tricks and perfect landings. There will also be Scavenger hunts which will see players exploring every inch of the mountain, and unlocking special rewards for those who venture the deepest.

And topping it all off? Well that will be an absolutely banging soundtrack from Monstercat, as you look to chill out to the latest in drum and bass hits.

Coming to Game Pass

Descenders Next is coming to Steam and Game Pass in 2025. If you want to get involved sooner, then keep you eyes out for some online Test Sessions for the game later this year, giving you access to early sections of the game. Head over to DescendersNext.com to sign up and be ready to tackle the mountain soon.

And let us know what you think. Will you be jumping into this one? Comments. Below. Get your eyes on the trailer too – it’s a bit good.
