Got a Game Pass subscription that needs some use? You’re in luck because this week sees a couple of great new additions to the service, no matter whether that be across Xbox, PC or even the Cloud.
It’s a relatively quiet time for Game Pass at the moment, as we gear up for the traditional madness of August, September and October game additions. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t anything that isn’t worth looking forward to, and the two additions to the Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass service this week feel like near must-players.
One of those games – Creatures of Ava – has been hotly anticipated for a good while. The other? Well, it’s the return of an old classic, in trilogy form.
Creatures of Ava
Creatures of Ava lands on Game Pass as a Day One debutant on August 7th – an adventure game focused on exploration and creature care.
Players embody Vic, a nature adventurer tasked with saving the unique ecosystem of Ava from an unknown infection. By exploring vibrant, interconnected worlds, players can discover and befriend creatures, using their abilities to solve puzzles and overcome challenges.
Rather than combat, the game emphasises healing and understanding the creatures to reverse the infection’s effects. The game delves into the mysteries of Ava, challenging players to look beyond human perspectives and truly connect with the planet’s inhabitants.
Full review is coming but you can get downloading this from the Xbox Store.
Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy
Crash is back – and this time he’s making the most of Game Pass as he goes.
Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is a remastered collection of the original three Crash Bandicoot games, offering classic platforming fun with updated visuals.
Players control Crash as he spins, jumps, and crashes his way through challenging levels to thwart Dr. Neo Cortex’s evil plans.
The trilogy includes the notoriously difficult, previously unreleased level “Stormy Ascent” and a brand new level, “Future Tense,” designed in the style of the original games. Ready to relive the nostalgia or experience the Crash Bandicoot craze for the first time? Make sure you take in our full review of Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy ahead of playing on Game Pass.
What’s next?
What’s next for Game Pass? Well, as mentioned, it’s still reasonably quiet on the whole subscription front, but we do now know that Mafia: Definitive Edition is the next that is set to land on the service. You’ll be able to play that through Game Pass on August 13th.
After that, it’s all about those leaving. In fact, come August 15th we’ll need to say goodbye to some four games. The biggest loss for us will be that of the brilliant Shadow Warrior 3, but moving out alongside that will be Airborne Kingdoms, Offworld Trading Company (PC only) and The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.
Today, it’s all about this week’s new additions. Will you be playing Creatures of Ava or the Crash Trilogy? Get into the comments and let us know.
