The Retrowave series continues in Forza Horizon 5, as Winter isn’t just coming, it is actually here! Do you want to build a snowman?
But with a new week comes new challenges in Forza Horizon 5’s Festival Playlist, giving us the opportunity to try and win new cars. I’ve gathered everything that should hopefully get you through Series 34 Winter of the Forza Horizon 5 Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges.
As always, let’s go!
Part 1: Weekly Car Challenge – Berlinetta
Ferrari are in the spotlight this week, not the Testarossa as you might expect given the 80’s vibe around here, but the F355 Berlinetta. This car apparently had an F1 inspired flat bottom! Do with that information what you will…
Should you not have one in your garage, it will set you back 190,000 credits.
Chapter 1 – Flat Bottomed
Get in your new car, take it for a spin. Step one complete.
Chapter 2 – Powerhouse
With a 3.5 litre V8 on board, we need to hit 190mph. Hit the highway! It is flipping slow in stock trim…
Chapter 3 – Tech Up
We now need to win a road race. Pick your race and go for it.
Chapter 4 – Enduring Legacy
Now we simply have to take a photo of the car. Snap away!
Complete these tasks and we will be five points closer to the seasonal prizes that are up for grabs with Forza Horizon 5’s Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges for Series 34.
Part 2: Weekly Challenges, Championships and PR Stunts
With the weekly challenge done and dusted, let’s dive into the rest of the mayhem on offer.
The Trial, the Eventlab having two events, PR Stunts and a massive two Seasonal Championships. More racing makes me a happy boy. Plus, we have something a bit unusual – a remixed Showcase. Worth an achievement if you don’t have it already! And further to that, the car is set, so no tuning to do…
The Trial – Back to the 90’s
Let’s try to race nicely, yeah?
We need a BMW from the 90’s and the tuning limit is B Class 700. Not gonna be a quick one!
I chose a BMW M3 from 1991, and the share name is “E30” with my GT, Red620Ti.
The prize for managing to find people who actually want to race The Trial like it should be done is a BMW M1. Silly doors on that car.
Eventlab 1 – THEFILTHYHONEY Presents Aztec my Chances
Even the creators are getting on the pun train, it seems!
This time we need a Retro Sports Car, tuned to A Class 800, and I went with a Nissan 240SX, share code : 299598631.
An okay course, with weird edges – sometimes the car seems to get hung up on them for no reason. Still, it isn’t too bad.
Take away a Porsche 968 for completing this, why don’t you?
Eventlab 2 – GABRIEL SZAYEL Presents Le Capitaine
This time it is a Retro Rally car we need, tuned to B Class 700, and so I went with a stock Lancia Delta S4.
A good track, but an odd choice of car – why a rally car when the course is all tarmac? Still, there is fun to be had here.
For winning out, we can take away a Lambo Diablo SV.
PR Stunt 1 – Speed Zone – Ladera
This week, all the PR stunts need the same car, an 80’s car tuned to A Class 800.
I went with a stock Porsche 959, and weirdly going uphill seems easier!
We need to average over 85 mph.
Do so and you’ll find a Super Wheelspin heading your way in return.
PR Stunt 2 – Trail Blazer – City Escape
Blaze through the streets in a car from the 80’s tuned to A Class 800. I went with the same Porsche again. Simples!
We need to hit the finish line with more than 40 seconds on the clock.
Another Super Wheelspin awaits.
Seasonal Championship 1 – 2000 and Late
Classic Sports Cars tuned to only C Class 600 is the theme here, and so I went with a Fiat Spider 124 from 1980 and the share code is :156042119.
For winning out, we can take home a Nissan GT-R from 1971.
Seasonal Championship 2 – DTM Ready
We need to grab a Retro Saloon, tune it to B Class 700, and then go racing. I chose an Audi RS4 Avant, not a saloon, but the share code is : 172973840.
The prize for winning is a Mercedes 190E
Part 3: Other Challenges
There’s always more to get involved in than just the racing, and that is the case again this week with Series 34 Winter. You’ve got a photo to take, some Eliminator and finally some Playground Games. Enough?
Photo Challenge – #3000
Take a photo of a Mitsubishi GTO from 1997 at the Gran Telescopio. What could be easier?
Enjoy my artistic effort up at the top of this piece. The location you need to be in is below.
The reward? A new car horn, Plasma. Cool.
The Eliminator – Battle Royale
As is usual with these events, simply hide in a bush until there are fewer than 30 competitors remaining. After that, go for the win or get knocked out, your call! I like to get knocked out. Well, I say I like it, but I really don’t…
The prize for completing this is a Raptor Rawr car horn. Groovy.
Seasonal Playground Games – King it On
Any guesses as to what we need to play this time?
Yes, it is Team King, and the car we need is an S1 Class 900 Rally Monster. Time for the Hoonigan Escort RS 1800 again! Share code : 264985022.
As a reward, we can get a new car horn, Synth Toms.
Part 4: Hot Wheels Events
If you have the Hot Wheels expansion and are an Elite Level player, then you get to enjoy a couple of extra events.
Seasonal PR Stunt – Speed Trap – Forest Edge
We need a Retro Supercar, and the tuning limit is A Class 800. A stock Lambo Diablo SV will clear the target.
The speed we need to hit is 210mph.
The prize is another Super Wheelspin. You know, those things we STILL really don’t need…
Seasonal Championship – Holden Oldies
Same car is required here, so I chose a Countach, share code: 797737461.
Completing the championship will get us a Holden Torana.
Part 5: Rally Adventure Events
The Rally Adventure expansion brings even more events to the roster and provided you are already a Horizon Badlands champion, you’ll get access to the following couple of events…
Seasonal PR Stunt – Drift Zone – Canyon Sweep
S1 Class 900 Rally Monster and some drifting? Sounds like a job for the trusty Hoonigan Escort RS 1800, and the share code for mine is : 264985022.
We need to slide our way to 110,000 drift points.
A Super Wheelspin is your reward.
Seasonal Championship – Apex Evolution
Same car class and tuning limit here, but it looks like an offroad race is afoot.
I used the same Escort as above, gotta save those pennies.
The reward for racing? A Ford RS200 Evolution.See what they did there?
The rewards for Series 34 and Winter in Forza Horizon 5
With Series 34 through the halfway point, there are new cars for the month. And they are the N Vision 74’22 for 80 points and a DeLorean DMC12 for 160 points.
Even more Rivals circuits have now been added with Series 34 as well. There are four to try your hand at this month – Playa Azul Circuit and Las Laderas for real engines, and Descansar Dorado Sprint and Los Jardines Circuit for battery powered cars. Post a clean lap on each to score 4 whole points towards the prize cars.
Grab enough points and Series 34 Winter also sees you given access to the exclusive Lotus Esprit ‘80 (just like James Bond!) for 20 points. Additionally, for 40 points we can get a Honda NSX-R GT, a hard to find car apparently.
We’ll be back with similar guides for the rest of Series 34 as Spring comes along.
To enjoy these events in the Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges, you’ll need a copy of Forza Horizon 5. It’s available on Game Pass, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC and on the cloud via mobile. The Xbox Store will sort you out with a download.
Let us know in the comments if I have helped, hindered or missed the mark with these tunes.
