Werewolf The Apocalypse Purgatory – now available

In recent times, we’ve been treated to a variety of experiences set within the fantasy World of Darkness universe, and under the ‘Werewolf: The Apocalypse’ name. On the one hand, the Dishonored-style action-packed Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood was pretty lacklustre, whereas the visual novel of Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Heart of the Forest was much more up our street.

And so we turn to Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Purgatory, which is far akin to the latter gameplay-wise, and is hoping to be equally similar in terms of quality.

A Beast Awakens

Now available on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, PC and iOS, Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Purgatory is a unique blend of visual novel, tabletop RPG and fantasy thriller, providing a detailed narrative to follow, and a ton of choices to make to affect how the story plays out.

You’ll follow the adventures of Samira, a werewolf and refugee hailing from Afghanistan, who uses her magical powers to attempt to escape a fractured homeland. Many stand in her way, but her ability to threaten or, occasionally, destroy her enemies will see you through this role-playing experience.

Key Features

  • Complex protagonist: explore Samira’s inner conflicts through a story-rich roleplaying game as she battles between despair and rage.
  • Thrilling conspiracies: uncover the supernaturalsecrets of the werewolves’ world through two distinct story paths, each offering different challenges and consequences.
  • Real-life settings: travel to popular landmarks and explore the wild landscapes of Poland and Afghanistan.
  • Powers of a werewolf: intimidate, manipulate or when all else fails, decimate all that stands in your way.
  • Visual novel meets tabletop RPG: experience a blend of narrative-driven gameplay and tabletop RPG mechanics.
  • Legendary World of Darkness lore: based on the new fifth edition corebook mechanics, the game emulates a classic role-playing experience.
