Forza Horizon 5 Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges Guide Series 36 – Spring

-

Well, the final week of the Cars and Coffee series in Forza Horizon 5 is here, as Spring dawns across Mexico. Can a Season dawn? Never mind.

As always, a new season means new challenges, and as per usual, I’ll try to help you meet them. Whether that is with car suggestions, tunes or just moral support, I’m here for you, dear reader!

So, let’s spring into Series 36 Spring of the Forza Horizon 5 Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges and see what’s in store, shall we?

Part 1: Weekly Car Challenge – The Best or Nothing

The subject of this week’s car challenge is the 1990 Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5 -16 Evolution II, a car that is in with a decent shout for “Longest Name typed in an Article”!

Building on the 190E Evolution I, this car is supposed to be bigger and better in every way. The name certainly is.

Should you not have one already, go and buy it from the Autoshow – they will exchange it for 150,000 of your credits.

Chapter 1 – What? Evolution is Evolving!

Get in your new car, take it for a spin.  Step one complete.

Chapter 2 – Speed with Style

Get three stars at Speed Zones now.

I’ve made a quicker model, share name is 190S1 with my GT, Red620Ti. You’re welcome!

Chapter 3 – DTM Racer

As this car was based on a racer, we now need to win a Road Circuit race in it. Pick your best and let ‘er rip!

Chapter 4 – Photo Finish

Go to the coffee shop at the west end of the highway and take a photo to finish in style.

Complete these tasks and we will be five points closer to the seasonal prizes that are up for grabs with Forza Horizon 5’s Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges for Series 36.

Part 2: Weekly Challenges, Championships and PR Stunts

With the weekly challenge done and dusted, let’s dive into the rest of the mayhem on offer.

The Trial, only two Eventlabs, PR Stunts, races – that’s what you are getting with Series 36 Spring.

The Trial – Hi-Bean Racing

I’ve now officially given up with trying to persuade people to race as a team. Every person for him (or her) self!

We need a Toyota or Lexus Car this time, tuned to A Class 800. I went with a GR Supra, share code : 984217186.

Let’s hope the racing gods smile down on us this week, as we attempt to win a Mercedes Benz AMG GTR.

Eventlab 1 – TBZFROSTBITE Presents Lighthouse National Circuit

The class here is Track Toys, and the tuning limit is A Class 800 – so I chose the BMW M3 GT-R from 2002, and the share code for mine is : 198385025.

A decent and challenging circuit that keeps you on your toes. I liked this one.

A Super Wheelspin is the prize.

Eventlab 2 – THEFILTHYHONEY Presents Teotihuacan Ruins Restored

We need a Retro or Classic Rally car, tuned to B CLass 700 for this event. I went with a stock Lancia Delta S4 from 1986, to save the pennies.

Despite an odd choice of car (why a Rally car on a 100% on road track?) it is clear a lot of work has gone into this track. Nice one!

Take away a Ford Mustang 1971 as a reward.

PR Stunt 1 – Danger Sign – Eagles Perch

This week, all the PR stunts need the same car, a C Class 600 IH Scout 800A.

If you don’t have one, it is the prize for completing the “Going International” Seasonal Championship. The share name for mine is “Scout” with my GT, Red620Ti. Tuning consists of a twin turbo V8 under the bonnet, and not much else…

We need to clear 200m.

Do so and you’ll find a Super Wheelspin heading your way in return.

PR Stunt 2 – Speed Trap – Pyramid of the Sun

Same car needed here, and the target is 100 mph.

Another Super Wheelspin awaits.

PR Stunt 3 – Speed Zone – El Gancho

Same car yet again, but average speed driving to do. We need to average over 65 mph.

Another Super wheelspin? Yep.

Seasonal Championship 1 – Just my Type

Modern Sports Cars is the category and the class is B 700. I went with a Subaru BRZ from 2013, and the share code is : 139235813.

For winning out, we can take home a VW Type 2 bus.

Seasonal Championship 2 – Going International

We need to grab a Cult car and make it into a D Class 500 monster.

I chose a Fiat 500 EsseEsse and the share code is : 177163642.

The prize for winning is an IH Scout 800A.

Part 3: Other Challenges

Slim pickings again this week, only a photo, a treasure hunt and some Horizon Tour to go at.

Photo Challenge – #FRENCHPRESS

Take a photo of any Renault at the Mural by Spaik in Gunajuato. Sounds complicated? I’ll show you where to go, never fear.

Enjoy my artistic effort up at the top of this piece. The location you need to be in is below.

The reward? A set of Spaik crew socks. Imagine how hard my eyes are rolling!

Treasure Hunt – In the Zone

The clue this week reads “Head on up to Rio Fuerte, in a vehicle from Deberti. Two stars the aim, the pressures on…Fulfill this task, your treasure won!”

Now, the Rio Fuerte speed zone is at the top of the map, and the 2 star speed is 95 mph. So, pick a Deberti car and beat that speed!

I used the Mustang GT from 2018, which is the final prize for this series. It’s a bit slidey in stock trim, so be careful!

The chest contains 100,000 credits, and the location is shown below.

Horizon Tour – Co-op Championships

Time for some jolly cooperation now, as we attempt to beat driverbots in a series of races, interspersed by some light point to point against the other humans.

I can’t give you a car or tune as it could be any class, but they aren’t usually too taxing.

Take home 8 points for winning out.

Part 4: Hot Wheels Events

If you have the Hot Wheels expansion and are an Elite Level player, then you get to enjoy a couple of extra events.

Seasonal PR Stunt – Speed Zone – Forest Flume

We are limited to a single car type this week, and that is any Porsche 911 from 2019. I used the 911 GT3 RS Forza Edition in stock trim to clear this easily.

We need to average over 155mph through the zone to win! Take a long run up from the east to do it.

A Super Wheelspin is your reward.

Seasonal Championship – Time to Play

We need a Super GT, and the tuning limit is S1 Class 900. I went with a Ferrari 812 Superfast, for a change, and the share code is : 261040765.

Completing the championship will get us a Porsche 911 from 2019.. Handy!

Part 5: Rally Adventure Events

The Rally Adventure expansion brings even more events to the roster and provided you are already a Horizon Badlands champion, you’ll get access to the following couple of events…

Seasonal PR Stunt – Speed Trap – Cascada Fuerte

Limited to only a Subaru WRX ‘04 and B Class 700, we need to do a bit of speeding for this event.

We need to clear 83 mph, which doesn’t sound a lot but it is on dirt. Stock Trim was actually okay for this.

The prize is another Super Wheelspin. How many of these things is it possible to stack up?

Seasonal Championship – Fancy a Suba-Brew?

Good Lord.

We need a Pickup or 4X4, tuned to C Class 600. I used a Ford F-150 SVT Raptor from 2011, share code : 139383916.

The reward for racing? An Subaru WRX ‘04

The rewards for Series 36 and Spring in Forza Horizon 5

With Series 36 finally at Spring, the road to the new cars for the month are up for grabs. And this time they are the Aston Martin Vanquish from 2018 for 80 points and a Ford Mustang DD for 160 points.

Even more Rivals circuits have now been added with Series 36 – and we are back to the full 4 for this month. These are Copper Canyon Sprint, Arch of Mulege Circuit, Cathedral circuit (I hate this one) and Mangrove Scramble. Turn in clean laps on each track to earn a massive four points to the weekly totals. Sadly not four for each, as they seem to suggest!

Grab enough points and Series 36 Spring also sees you given access to the exclusive VW Thing’73 for 20 points. Additionally, for 40 points we can get the Lancia 037 a hard to find but very good looking car.

Tune in at the same time next week for the next Series – High Performance Dailies! No idea what that might be about (my daily driver isn’t high performance, that’s for damn sure!) but I shall provide all the details next week, never fear.

To enjoy these events in the Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges, you’ll need a copy of Forza Horizon 5. It’s available on Game Pass, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC and on the cloud via mobile. The Xbox Store will sort you out with a download.

Let us know in the comments if I have helped, hindered or missed the mark with these tunes.
